Vijay to protest demonstration on feb 22.

Sources said vijay will visit the coastal town of Nagapattinam on February 22 to lead a protest demonstration to condemn the mid-sea killings of Tamil Nadu fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy.

Sources said the popular hero will during the demonstration also hit out at chief minister M. Karunanidhi and the Centre for not preventing such attacks. This is supposed to send out a loud message that he will be indirectly supporting the J. Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK in the coming elections. It is also being seen as a prelude to read the public pulse for his “concern” for the cause of Tamils and poor fishermen, sources said.
His fan clubs in the Delta districts are now busy mobilising crowds for the demonstration, in which his ambitious father and director S.A. Chandrasekar will also take part. “We are expecting nearly 1 lakh fans from across the state. Vijay will also be visiting the families of the fishermen who were killed,” said ‘Vijay’ Raja, president of Tiruchy district Vijay Fans’ Club.
Sources said Vijay, who faced many hurdles while releasing his latest film Kavalan, was upset with the DMK. His father met Ms Jayalalithaa twice recently and has been criticising the DMK regime for creating unnecessary hurdles for his son.
